CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FOR: KYOTO GARDENS DRIVE/LAKE VICTORIA DRIVE TRAFFIC SIGNAL

Project: This project includes the installation a traffic signal at the intersection of Lake Victoria Gardens Drive and Kyoto Gardens Drive, which is located at the south entrance of Downtown at the Gardens. Lane and asphalt modifications are included, as well as changes to the stacking lanes south of the intersection.
Status: Currently under design. Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2008

Project: FPL dedicated a park parcel to the City on the western portion of the FPL Ryder substation site, which abuts a South Florida Water Management District right-of-way containing an existing boat access area.
Sandhill Crane Park provides visitors access to the C-18 Canal and the adjacent natural areas. The project elements include restrooms, canoe launch, fishing pier, picnic facilities with an observation deck, an upgraded boat ramp and dock for small water vessels to access the waterway, vehicle and trailer parking, trail head, interpretive educational displays, and other attendant facilities.
The bronze dancing sandhill crane sculpture (bottom left) was generously donated by Richard L. and Bettie B. Marks and can be viewed by visiting the City Hall lobby.

Project:This project includes the restoration of primary canals located in the SE
quadrant of the City as mentioned in the Stormwater Management Plan. The Thompson River, Earman River,
Allamanda, Meridian Way, Bellewood and the FEC canals make up this restoration project as shown in the
Stormwater Management Plan.

Project: This project consists of a dog run providing the opportunity for dogs to exercise and run freely. The park originally opened in June 2005 and has since had several added amenities. A long crawl tunnel, “A” frame ramp and a custom dog hole jump plus a red fire hydrant are pieces of play equipment that have been installed at the park. Owners of our four-legged friends have not been left out as two cool topper shade areas, waste receptacles and a water fountain have also been added.
