Community Services Leader II- Lifeguard, Aquatics

Salary Range: $11.41 - $12.55 / hour

Responsibilities: A lifeguard for the City of Palm Beach Gardens Recreation Division primary role is to ensure the safety of patrons in and around the pool and throughout the facility. Duties include but are not limited to, supervision of patrons, cleaning, policy enforcement, program and event set up/tear downs and various other duties associated with the pool operations. The Lifeguard has daily, frequent contact with the public; this position requires the ability to interact with the public in a professional, friendly, positive and tactful manner at all times. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and various shifts, as Aquatics needs dictate.

Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Student age 16 years or older
• Certification in Lifeguarding, First Aide, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and Oxygen Administration required
• Certifications in Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguarding Instructor are preferred
• Note: It is the lifeguard’s responsibility to ensure all the above mentioned certifications remain current for continued employment.

Special Requirements:
• Certification and training as required by operations
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds
