Certified Police Officer

To qualify, you must:
Be a U.S. Citizen
Be at least nineteen (19) years of age
Have a high school diploma or GED
Possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license
Be in good physical health and free from disabling defects
Meet minimum standards for vision and hearing
Be of good moral character
Have a stable work record
Not have any convictions as an adult of a felony
  or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude
Have a passing score on the Florida Police Officers
  Certification Examination by date of hire



Salary Range: $43,500 - $75,730

Police Officer Trainee Program

To qualify, you must:
Be a U.S. Citizen
Be at least nineteen (19) years of age
Have a high school diploma or GED
Possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license
Be in good physical health and free from disabling defects
Meet minimum standards for vision and hearing
Be of good moral character
Have a stable work record
Not have any convictions as an adult of a felony
  or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude
Have a minimum of 60 college credits, or be currently attending the Florida Academy

Salary Range: 75% of starting Police Officer salary

Upon successful completion of the Police Academy and the State Law Enforcement exam, trainees may become full-time officers.
