Suellen Northrop, LPGA Class A Teaching Professional
Suellen has spent her life teaching….and learning…and gifting others.
Some may call it intuition backed by knowledge and experience. Suellen has a gift for connecting with students at the place where their beliefs and performance intersect; quickly getting to the most effective elements of not just what they do, but why they do what they do. Suellen then goes one step further by equipping them with new practice tools that translate to improved play.
As a Golf Professional… Suellen has been Head Professional at Peek & Peek Resort, Clymer, NY, Seven Springs Golf &CC, New Port Richey, FL, and Director of Golf at Bristol Harbour, Canandaigua, NY, and she has established the Suellen Northrop Golf School at golf clubs and resorts in New York and Florida.
Recently, Suellen has spent winters as the teaching professional at The Club at Admiral’s Cove in Jupiter, FL. During summer months Suellen has been the Director of Instruction and Curriculum at the Chautauqua Golf Learning Center, NY; a golf learning and development center which she helped create and establish. This past summer included teaching in Lakeville, MN at Crystal Lake Golf Club.

As a player: Suellen played collegiate golf at Miami-Dade, played professionally on the WPGT and Futures golf tours distinguishing herself as the one player other professionals would ask for help with their game. As a result, Suellen has coached over 10 LPGA professionals who together have 8 LPGA Tour victories. Currently, teaching/coaching twp LPGA Senior Tour players Barb Bunkowsky-Scherbak and Nancy Taylor.…Playing but….Always with teaching as her passion.
As a performer: Singing professionally in groups and as a soloist, Suellen has performed onstage as the lead in musicals, and has directed church dramas and choir performances.
We can’t be sure but we think she holds the record for golf professionals singing at the weddings of LPGA Tour players! (4!) Whether as Indiana Northrop in the “Finders of the Lost Arc” or as “Dorfina”: the Short Game expert, Suellen’s background in creative performance is an integral part of her teaching and clinics, conveying golf concepts with a memorable flair!
