COVID-19 Department Adjustments

As awareness grows regarding community spread of COVID-19, the City of Palm Beach Gardens Planning and Zoning Department has adopted several new operating procedures to continue to provide services while maintaining physical and social distancing. Most staff members will be working remotely from home; however, project reviews and permit review functions will continue, and conference calls and meetings are available to conduct business. Please see below:

Plan Submittal – The main lobby and building lobby of City Hall will be locked. All development project submittals and resubmittals will be by electronic format only!

Planner on Call – Calls will be taken from 8:00am – 1:00pm. Walk-in consultation with the POC is suspended at this time. Due to the circumstances regarding COVID-19, no staff is physically available to answer this phone. However, your inquiry is extremely important to us and we are striving to maintain this valuable service to the community. In order to do so in the most expeditious timeframe, please send your inquiry or questions by email to Giovanna Simm at and a Planning Staff member will get in touch with you as soon as possible. If you do not have access to email, please call 561-799-4243 and a staff member will help you with your question.

Meetings – All department meetings will be held by teleconference or using various remote meeting technologies, to be organized by the City Planner/Project Manager and Applicant. Please be advised that all City Board and Committee meetings are cancelled until further notice.

The Planning and Zoning Department provides various services related to the physical development of the City.

Please note the Planning and Zoning Department’s policy in regard to Development Application Submittals and/or Re-submittals: a cut off time of Friday at Noon is in place for any submittals and/or re-submittals. Any packets received after this time will not be stamped/logged in until the following business day.


The Planning Division guides growth and development to protect the quality of life within the City of Palm Beach Gardens. It ensures uniform enforcement of city codes and regulations which provide guidance and assistance to the public, the development community, and other governmental agencies regarding requirements of the City’s adopted plans, development codes, and land use regulations.

Development Compliance & Zoning

The Development Compliance and Zoning staff is charged with monitoring all development for compliance with the City’s Land Development Regulations (LDRs), Chapter 78 in the Code of Ordinances, and Development Orders for all development projects in the City.


Forestry provides a wide range of services to the residents of Palm Beach Gardens. Environmental and natural areas, development, landscaping, and wildlife are all important items that distinguish the City from usual urban settings.

Geographical Information Systems (GIS)

The Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Division supports city activities relating to mapping and geographic data. Enterprise GIS organizes the collective system into one comprehensive data resource in order to distribute the information to staff and citizens in a user-friendly interface on the website.
