Approval Process

Business Services Coordinator

The Business Services Coordinator reviews the application for accuracy and ensures applicable state/federal licenses are in place and have been provided. At the end of the process they will issue the applicant the City of Palm Beach Gardens Business Tax Receipt, and the signed application for the Palm Beach County Local Business Tax Receipt. It is the responsibility of the business owner or agent to take the form and apply with Palm Beach County.

Planning & Zoning Division

Planning and Zoning reviews the application to ensure that the use of the business is approved at the location chosen. Upon approval of the City application, the Development Compliance Technician routes the application to the Fire Department for commercial businesses, and to the Business Services Coordinator for home based businesses, and signs off on section #2 "Municipal/City Zoning" section of the Palm Beach County Local Business Tax Receipt application.

Fire Department

A Life Safety inspection is conducted at the end of the Business Tax Receipt process for commercial businesses to ensure that the business location is safe and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.
