AUDITION WORKSHOPS FOR BAK MSOA THEATRE & COMMUNICATIONS PROGRAMS
Get your 5th grader prepared to audition for the Bak Middle School of the Arts Theatre or Communications Departments with well-known audition and vocal coach, Melissa Boher Jacobson. Melissa has taught hundreds of students these popular and successful workshops for many years with a high success rate. Classes follow all guidelines for auditions and include end-of-session mock auditions.

Once Upon A Time
Once upon a time acting class introduces young students to the importance of building characters to create stories. Students will learn life skills such as: confidence, focus, use of verbal skills, and build creativity all through performing arts. Students will explore the use of their body to express themselves clearly. Students will strive to sustain a character through vocal and physical techniques that are given and practiced in class while staying in character to tell a story.
*Parent watch week the last week of class (last 30 minutes) where students will perform a class demonstration, a musical number and poem from Snow White.

All the World's a Stage
Learn the skills and disciplines needed to be a focused and successful actor. Class is based on group activities, acting techniques, scene work, monologues, improvisation, and imagination. Students can express themselves creatively in an unintimidating and accepting class environment where students will grow artistically. Parent watch week is the last week of class (last 30 minutes) where students will perform a play, “Snow... Sort... of... White“ and a class demonstration. Parent support needed for easy costumes.

SYNOPSIS: This ensemble piece is a contest-winning reader's theatre play. Snow... Sort of... White spoofs the famous tale, modernizing the play with everything from Sassy Sisters to a Narrator who wants to be a star. This play is laugh-out-loud readers' theatre at its best!

If you are interested in taking a class that has been canceled, please email the Recreation Department or call 561-630-1100 and put your name on a list to let us know that you are interested in that class. Once we have enough people to hold the class, we will try to restart that class.
