Administrative and Investigations Division
The Administrative and Investigations Division is responsible for oversight and management of the Administrative Support Bureau and the Investigations Bureau. The division is supervised by Assistant Chief of Police Dominick Pape, with two Majors, one in charge of each bureau. The Assistant Chief reports directly to the Chief of Police and is responsible to the Chief for the efficient and effective operation of the division.
Assistant Chief Dominick Pape
Assistant Chief Dominick Pape began his law enforcement career in 1982 with the Gainesville Police Department in Florida. He spent 6 years with Gainesville PD and held positions of Patrol Officer, Special Operations Officer, SWAT Operator, Detective and was promoted to Sergeant before joining the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in 1988. He spent 25 years with FDLE and was promoted through the ranks of Special Agent, Special Agent Supervisor, Assistant Special Agent in Charge, and to Special Agent in Charge of the Jacksonville Regional Operations Center before retiring in 2013. Part of his assignment in Jacksonville was to oversee investigations impacting 13 northern counties and the Jacksonville Crime Laboratory system. Throughout his career Assistant Chief Pape has gained vast experience in investigations of Narcotics, Violent Crime, Economic Crime, Money Laundering and Domestic Security.
Assistant Chief Pape holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and Associate Degree in Legal Assistance from King's College. He further expanded his educational experience by receiving two Master's Degrees. One for Criminal Justice from Florida International University and a second for Security Studies (Homeland Security and Defense) from the prestigious Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security. Assistant Chief Pape has been a state certified instructor on several law enforcement topics to include high-liability areas involving firearms and defensive tactics. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy's 200th session and the Southern Police Institute Command Officers Development program. He is currently a member of the FBI National Academy Associates and the Florida Sheriffs Association.
Dominick Pape was appointed to the position of Major of the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department in August 2015, overseeing the Investigations Bureau. He was promoted to Assistant Chief in May of 2018, where he oversees the day to day operations of the Administrative and Investigations Division.
