PAINT PARTY: Wood Door Signs

Enjoy an ‘artsy’ evening out with friends. These step-by-step painting classes are pure fun and are created for those without any painting experience. This truly is “Art for Everyone.” You will be instructed one brush stroke at a time and be amazed at what you can do! Actual themed projects will be displayed on our website, so you can get excited about what your finished masterpiece will be! Please register three (3) weeks prior to class to prevent cancellation.

Photography Workshop I: Digital Camera & Exposure

Learn about what it takes to properly expose a picture using your different camera modes. This workshop is hands-on, and you will have exercises to practice what you have learned about your camera and the exposure triangle. Please bring your digital camera and/or manual camera to class each week.

Photography Workshop II: Digital Composition & Beyond

This workshop assumes you know how your camera works and that you are familiar with the exposure triangle. You will be introduced to composition in photography; color theory; what makes a good black and white image; and intro to portraiture. On your first day of class, please bring three photographs that you are proud of, printed in any format, as we will begin with constructive critique.

Create, Play, Imagine in Clay!

Discover the ceramic artist in you! All levels are welcome in this class that teaches hand building while receiving individualized attention. Initial clay and glaze fees included. Each additional 25 lb. bag of clay and glaze is $25.

Wheel Throwing

Learn the basic skills for wheel throwing including wedging, centering, opening, pulling and design considerations. Beginning potters will be given significant individual attention. More advanced students will learn how to build larger forms adding texture, trimming methods, and altering. Initial clay and glaze fees included. Each additional 25 lb. bag of clay and glaze is $25.

Cancelled Classes


At times, classes are cancelled due to low enrollment. If you are interested in taking a class that has been cancelled, please email the Recreation Department or call 561-630-1100 and put your name on a list to let us know that you are interested in that class. Once we have enough people to hold the class, we will try to restart that class.

REFUND INFORMATION

All refunds must be requested in writing at any of our Recreation service desks or through the Refund Request Electronic Form.

Class Cancellation/Refund Policy

Please be advised that refunds are processed when requested, less a $20 transaction fee per class/activity. Should a participant request a refund more than three days prior to the first class, they will receive a full refund less the transaction fee. If the class or program has started and the request for a refund is made before the third meeting of the activity, the refund will be prorated, less the transaction fee. Any request for a refund made after the third class is reviewed and the appropriate refund, if any, is determined by a committee. Refunds will not be given for missed classes unless accompanied by a doctor's note or unless a class is canceled by the Recreation Department
