Classic Camp 2023
Classic Camp consists of ten one-week sessions, May 30 - August 4, for children going in Kindergarten to 8th grade who want to experience a variety of activities including swimming, team sports, gym games, board games, game room activities, outdoor play, movies and crafts. We follow a 1:12 staff-to-camper ratio. Campers need to bring their lunch, snacks and drinks daily in an insulated lunch box. The campers are split into age groups as listed below. Camp hours are 7:30am-6pm, with organized activities beginning at 9am.
Important Registration Information:
- February 6: Classic Camp* registration opens for Palm Beach Gardens residents only, both online and in person at any Recreation facility. See age groups and weekly rates below.
- March 6: All full-day, half-day, and specialty camps become available for registration for Palm Beach Gardens residents only, both online and in person at any Recreation facility. View all camps HERE!
- April 15: Non-resident registration opens for all camps, space permitting.
Play-A-Way (In-person only):
Did you know that you can register now to save your spot in camp and pay later? Our Play-A-Way program allows you to register for two weeks or more of camp per child and only pay a deposit equal to one week of camp (per child). From there, you can make installment payments towards the balance until May 12, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. Accounts not paid in full by May 12 are subject to registration cancellation.
PROCARE: Camp Sign In/Out & Parent Communication
Camp Gardens will use ProCare software for daily sign in/out and verify pick up persons for your child. Not only will this tablet-based system save trees, but it will also allow our camp staff to communicate more effectively. Registered parents/guardians will receive either emails or push notifications regarding field trip updates, pictures of campers having an awesome time, boo boo reports, authorized pick up notifications, and much more.

The PBC Health Dept. requires anytime entering kindergarten, or from another state/country, to have a Florida physical form and shot record on file with RYEC before attending camp. A copy of your child’s birth certificate may be requested at registration.

Middle School EDGE
- Age: Entering 7th or 8th grade
- Time: 7:30am-6:00pm
- Location: Burns Road Community Center
“EDGE” into summer with a new camp specifically geared for middle schoolers! Participants will have hands-on experiences as they learn character building and life skills needed to succeed for high school, college, and eventually the work force. Top that off with fieldtrips, lasting friendships, fun and you have a program your tween/teen will remember for a lifetime.

Rising Stars
- Age: Entering 9th or 10th grade
- Time: 7:30am-6:00pm
- Location: Burns Road Community Center
Has your teen ever talked about wanting to be a camp counselor someday or expressed how much they love to be around kids? Rising Stars is a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program for youth entering 9th and 10th grade. Participants will not only get hands-on experience but learn the skills necessary to become a successful camp counselor. Community service hours will be earned and can be used towards high school graduation, Bright Futures, and other college scholarship requirements.

General Information
A non-refundable fee of $1 per child will be charged for waitlist enrollments. This fee must be paid with a credit card. Should a spot open on the waitlist and the parent/guardian confirms that they still want the child to attend that camp, the credit card used to pay the $1 waitlist fee will be charged for the balance of the week of camp.
A fee of $15 for each portion of 15 minutes will be issued for each participant picked up after the scheduled ending time. There is no “grace” period. This fee must be paid when late pick-up occurs.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), persons in need of special accommodations to participate in recreation programs shall contact us at the Burns Road Community Center, 561-630-1100 or recinfo@pbgfl.com, by March 21, 2023.
We partner with The Arc of Palm Beach County who will assist in assessing your child’s needs. You can reach The Arc at 561-842-3213 should you wish to inquire about their camps.
Participants who reside within the City of Palm Beach Gardens boundaries support Recreation facilities and programs through property taxes; therefore, residents receive a discounted fee on programs offered. In order to receive the City resident rates, youth participants listed on the registration form must reside with at least one parent/guardian within the City of Palm Beach Gardens boundaries.
Proof of residency verification requires a Florida driver’s license with a current address, current utility bill or a property tax document.
Camp cancellations must be processed through your account online at www.pbgrec.com/login. Online cancellations will allow parents/guardians to receive their refund immediately if the camp was originally paid for with a credit card. If you paid with cash (checks not accepted), you should expect a refund check in the mail within 2-3 weeks.
The cancellation policy is as follows:
- More than 48 hours in advance: Receive 90% of the original fees paid.*
- Less than 48 hours but more than 24 hours in advance: Receive 75% of the original fees paid.*
- Less than 24 hours in advance: No refund.*
*If your child cannot attend camp due to a serious injury or illness, a doctor’s note must be immediately sent to ProCare for review. Refunds will not be issued for single-day illnesses.
