If a program is full, please consider putting your child on the waiting list. Many times we have cancellations before the camp begins.

Community Service Experience


Court-ordered community service hours are not offered in this program. 

Give your teen the gift of a positive, rewarding and enlightened experience that they will remember for a lifetime! This award-winning program allows each participant a hands-on experience helping local non-profit agencies with community service projects. Teens will encounter positive, rewarding and enlightened experiences that they will remember for a lifetime!

Services could range from helping the homeless, landscaping and park beautification to cleaning the environment, helping the hungry, assisting the blind or helping in an animal shelter. It is highly recommended for each participant to bring sunscreen and a hat, as many projects will be outdoors. Each day begins and ends at the Burns Road Community Center. 

Please verify with your school that community service hours completed will be accepted towards your school requirements.

  • Age: 14-17 (age as of the first day of the program week)
  • Location: Meet at Burns Road Community Center
  • Pack a lunch, snack and beverages daily.
  • Most trips leave BRCC by 8:30 a.m. and return at approximately 4:30 p.m.

NEW! Know Before You Go

How ready is your teen to face the challenges of becoming independent on their own or as a college student? Are they able to cook a simple meal, change the sheets on their bed, change a flat tire, do laundry or balance their checking account? This program will teach them these skills and much more! We will also provide field trips to tour local colleges/universities each week as well as tips for successful interviews, potential scholarship opportunities and general safety. Recommended for teens entering their junior or senior year in high school.
