Cultural Arts & STEM Camps

A terrific variety of Cultural Arts & STEM camps including keyboard, natural science, violin, musical theater, visual art, film making, robotics, and more!


  • Half day camps: please send your camper with snacks and a drink daily.
  • Campers registered for full day camps or both AM/PM sessions must bring snacks, drinks and a lunch daily.
  • Instruction for full day Cultural Arts Camps programming begins at 9am and ends by 4pm. Activities from 7:30-9am and 4-6pm will be provided by PBG City Staff. 

If a camp is full, please consider putting your child on the waiting list. Many times we have cancellations before the camp begins.

PROCARE: Camp Sign In/Out & Parent Communication

Camp Gardens will use ProCare software for daily sign in/out and verify pick up persons for your child.  Not only will this tablet-based system save trees, but it will also allow our camp staff to communicate more effectively. Registered parents/guardians will receive either emails or push notifications regarding field trip updates, pictures of campers having an awesome time, boo boo reports, authorized pick up notifications, and much more.

Mind Games is an enrichment program that helps students improve academic achievement through STEM based game play. Campers will be introduced to a new game that focuses on several areas such as critical thinking skills, focus and attention, cognitive processing speed, sportsmanship, and life skills. All games are hands on and SCREEN FREE!

LOL Film Making delivers the excitement of Hollywood with an action-packed week filled with adventure, mystery, and a lot of comedy. Campers engage in hands on exploration of the filmmaking process to learn about stop motion animation, set  design, script writing and editing. Campers use a MacBook, and HD stop motion camera to create a film and movie trailer. Family and friends are invited to a red-carpet film festival to wrap up the week!

Fill your week with action, adventure, and a lot of comedy with Film Camp in A Box movie making camp. Mentored by master filmmakers, campers will engage in hands-on exploration of the filmmaking process, including pre-production, and post-production. Working in small crews, campers will learn about cinematography, script writing and    editing. Campers will then create, act, edit a short film and movie trailer. Each film crew will use a MacBook, HD camera, tripod, green screen, boom microphone and aerial drone.

Your Jr. Mad Scientist will enjoy a week full of Rocketry and Robotics. From our Earth’s atmosphere to the outer reaches of our solar system, this hands-on program sends children on a quest for exploration! Comets, planets, stars, and more are all waiting to be discovered. Learn about the four forces of flight, the challenges of space travel, and explore the science involved in rocket construction as you build your own  Skyblazer II Rocket™! What creative camper will design tomorrow’s future robots?

Your young explorer will become familiar with the existence of dinosaurs. Campers will talk about the 3 periods of time: Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous while creating wild works of art including sketches, paintings and 3D projects such as       ‘dinoland dioramas’ and clay creations.

Nature is calling…will you answer?  In this camp, children will learn about the critters and beasts that roam our beautiful planet. The kids will dissect owl pellets, build an insect and  scavenge for food like the animals do. They will also make awesome discoveries about Earth and what part they can play in keeping it healthy. They will make paper, learn about recycling, build their own cell and even cook solar nachos!

Students will be introduced to the piano and learn the following: how to sit at the piano, fingering, pre-staff notation, note values, skips vs. steps, c position, time signature and more. Each student will each have an opportunity to play individually and as a group. Assignments will be given to reinforce each lesson. Students must bring their own keyboard. Supply list for keyboard book is available at registration.

Let’s put art into your day! Spend your morning completing an entire painting on canvas or on a wooden sign. All classes are taught by professional artists as they instruct an easy step-by step fun and simple art lesson. Let your inner artist take over and create your very own masterpiece!

Working collaboratively in small crews, your young rock star will learn about cinematography specific to music videos and advanced editing techniques. Using an existing pop culture song, campers will listen to the lyrics, learn them, and create their own story and meaning. They will then act and edit a full music video. Each film crew will use a MacBook, Final Cut Pro, an HD camera, tripod, green-screen, and aerial drone.

This camp is ‘out of this world’ with fun facts about the 8 planets of the solar system. Your child will learn man’s capabilities of space exploration and their imaginations will soar! Simple to complex art projects will include sculpting with         model magic clay, painting their own planet and plenty of mixed media fun to keep them busy to infinity and beyond. Count down and blast off with this cool camp!

Camp cancellations must be processed through your account online at Online cancellations will allow  parents/guardians to receive their refund immediately if the camp was originally paid for with a credit card. If you paid with cash (checks not accepted), you should expect a refund check in the mail within 2-3 weeks.

The cancellation policy is as follows:

  • More than 48 hours in advance: Receive 90% of the original fees paid.*
  • Less than 48 hours but more than 24 hours in advance: Receive 75% of the original fees paid.*
  • Less than 24 hours in advance: No refund.*

*If your child cannot attend camp due to a serious injury or illness, a doctor’s note must be immediately sent to ProCare for review. Refunds will not be issued for single-day illnesses.


All refunds must be requested in writing at any of our Recreation service desks or through the Refund Request Electronic Form.

Play-A-Way Registration (in person only)

Register for two weeks or more of camp per child and only pay a deposit equal to one week of camp (per child). From there, you can make installment payments towards the balance until May 13, 2022 at 5pm. Accounts not paid in full by May 13 will be subject to registration cancellation.
