Benefits

The U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States, and is required by the Constitution to take place every 10 years. The 2010 Census will help communities receive over $400 billion in federal funds each year.

The 2010 Census:

  • Allows for reapportioning of seats within the U.S. House of Representatives
  • Assists in drawing appropriate school district boundaries
  • Enhances planning for natural disasters and apportioning resources during recovery
  • Insures the City of its fair share of Federal and State funds to enhance programs in the City and community

  • Revised Population Count as of August 23, 2012: 48,440 people
