On January 20, 2017, the Palm Beach Gardens Women's Club and the City celebrated Arbor Day 2017. On that beautiful Friday morning, President Sandy Schneider of the Woman's Club opened the ceremony by welcoming Vice Mayor, Eric Jablin, Council Members, Bert Premuroso, Maria Marino, and Carl Woods, City Manager, Ron Ferris, and City staff to the 18th Arbor Day at the PBG Woman's Club Honor Park at Lake Catherine Park.
Vice Mayor Jablin read the Arbor Day Proclamation proclaiming January 20, 2017 Arbor Day and presented the Proclamation document to the PBG Women's Club. This year the PBG Women's Club donated the Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow Tree to the City. City Forester, Mark Hendrickson, provided a few tree facts about the Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow Tree. David Reyes, Director of Parks and Public Facilities attended with Parks Staff who care for the trees all year and secure the Bald Cypress seedlings donated by Tim Wellan of Art by Nature Gardens Center. For the tree planting ceremony, all the gold shovels were lifted with soil to establish the Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow Tree as the 2017 Arbor Day tree.
