On January 19, 2018, the Palm Beach Gardens Women's Club and the City celebrated Arbor Day 2018. On that beautiful Friday morning, President Carol Renick of the Woman's Club opened the ceremony by welcoming Vice Mayor, Mark Marciano, Council Members, Carl Woods, Matthew Lane, and Rachelle Litt, City Manager, Ron Ferris, and City staff to the 19th Arbor Day at the PBG Woman's Club Honor Park at Lake Catherine Park.
Vice Mayor Marciano read the Arbor Day Proclamation proclaiming January 19, 2018 Arbor Day and presented the Proclamation document to the PBG Women's Club. This year the PBG Women's Club donated the Egyptian Tulip Tree to the City. City Forester, Mark Hendrickson, provided a few tree facts about the Egyptian Tulip Tree. Joe Corrao, Director of Parks and Public Facilities attended with Parks Staff who care for the trees all year and secure the Gumbo Limbo seedlings donated by Tim Wellan of Art by Nature Gardens Center. For the tree planting ceremony, all the gold shovels were lifted with soil to establish the Egyptian Tulip Tree as the 2018 Arbor Day tree.
