Road construction that you may be wondering about! Currently, Palm Beach County has three road projects within our city boundaries that may impact residents daily. Most recently, the County has resumed work at the intersection of PGA Blvd and N. Military Trail, where crews are working to complete construction of the right-turn lane and replace sidewalks. Once all sidewalks are in place, a milling and paving crew will complete the project. Traffic cones are out; drivers should expect delays. The County says a subcontractor still needs to remove the old strain poles at the intersection, and Comcast still has to complete work on one pole to the southwest corner. At this time, the County estimates project completion at the end of March.
The County is also working on the intersection of Northlake Blvd and Military Trail. They're extending the eastbound turn lane from Northlake Blvd to northbound Military Trail. The County says officials are looking for a subcontractor to complete the remaining items on the project.
A segment of Hood Road between Alton Road and Alt. A1A is part of the County's pilot deployment of the County's Smart Traffic Signals or the SynchroGreen Adaptive Signal Control System. The County says this segment of road was chosen because of the light traffic and railroad crossing. The County is looking to evaluate the performance of these new signals.
Please be advised these are County projects and the City of Palm Beach Gardens is not in charge of them. For more information on the work, you can contact Zachary King from the Palm Beach County Construction Coordination Division at 561-684-4180.
