Earth Day at the GreenMarket

Registration for Camp Gardens 2016 is open online and in person. Play-away payment plan options are still available. Download or pick up a copy of the Camp Gardens newsletter that has a full listing of summer camps for ages 4-18 including sports, aquatics, classic day camp, art/dance/theatre and much more.

GFWC Palm Beach Gardens Woman's Club

Please join the Woman's Club on Wednesday, April 20 at 7PM, for a program given by Valerie Ramsey, "Aging Gracefully".  They will also be honoring Past and Present Presidents.  The meeting will be held at Lakeside Community Center, 10410 N. Next Level Basketball Clinics

Learn the game of basketball the right way. PBGHS Boys Basketball Coach Drew Quinn has a passion for teaching young kids the fundamentals of basketball to give them a solid foundation and understanding of the game. Clinics for ages 3-9 are held at Mirasol Park, 12385 Jog Rd., on Sunday mornings, April 3-24. Res/NR Fee: $50/$63. Register online or at the Burns Road Recreation Center. More Information

Karate Classes

Kids and adults learn self-defense and discipline. Karate classes are available to kids as young as seven and adults of any age! Classes are held on Monday and Wednesday nights (6-6:45pm ages 7-9, 7:15-8:45pm ages 10+) through May 25. Res/NR Fee: $96/$120 for ages 7-9, $112/$140 for ages 10+. Register online or in person.

Coding Discovery & Video Game Design 

The Video Game Design class is for 8-10 year olds, offering a great opportunity for beginner and advanced “passive” game players to become “active” game creators. The Coding Discovery class is for 5-7 year olds, introducing them to computer programming languages. Classes will take place on Friday afternoons beginning April 15 and run for 6 weeks. Gardens Gives Back
Community Service Experience

Sign up now for this award-winning summer program that allows each teen participant, ages 14-16, a hands-on experience helping local non-profit agencies with community service projects. This program takes place the weeks of June 13-17, June 27-July 1, July 11-15 and July 25-29. Participants meet at Burns Road Rec Center as early as 7:30am and can stay until 6pm. Departure is 8:30am sharp and return by 4:30pm. Res/Non-Res Fee is $185/$232 each week. Space is very limited so sign up early! Stroller Power

Where moms get fit, have fun and make friends! Cindy Martling’s Stroller Power classes provide moms with a complete workout, offering different cardio and strength training exercises plus a complete abdominal workout in every class. Moms may bring their children or come alone! Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:30am (Hiit It) and 9:15am (Intense Intervals) at the Burns Road Recreation Center.  Res/NR Fee $3/$4 (Hiit It) or $5/$6 (Intense Workout).

Yoga Nidra Classes

Yoga Nidra is an integrative relaxation method for all ages and fitness levels that combines body, breath and awareness techniques. You will effortlessly disengage from your thoughts, release tension, and increase creativity. An instructor will guide you into a deep state of relaxation for 45 minutes. Classes take place on Thursdays from 7:30-8:30pm or Saturdays from 1:30-2:30pm starting April 7 & 9, and run for 4 weeks. Resident/non-resident fee is $48/$60 per session. More Information

Mah Jongg and Canasta Luncheon

Fifty-two people had a blast at the Annual Mah Jongg & Canasta Luncheon Tournament on Tuesday, March 29th. Our Mah Jongg winners were Cheryl Meth in first place with Janice Coons in second place; Caroline Bruno and Sue Gould tied for third place; and Rose Trum was our all time winner with Susan Adams and Ann Fontana coming in at second and third place. If you would like to learn and/or play these fun games, we offer Mah Jongg on Tuesdays and Canasta on Thursdays from 1-5pm at Lakeside Center, 10410 North Military Trail. That way you can join us next year for another awesome annual Mah Jongg & Canasta Luncheon Tournament!

Happy Feet & Hungry Minds Food Drive

The Adult/Seniors Club continues to host a food drive to benefit the students of Grove Park Elementary School and their families. Non-perishable food items may be dropped off at Burns Road Rec Center or the Lakeside Center. Call Gillian Kennedy Wright at (561) 630-1108 for more information.

New Session of Swim Lessons begins April 18

It’s never too soon or too late to learn how to swim! American Red Cross group and private swim lessons are available for infants, toddlers, teens and adults. The next session begins on April 18, with registration starting on April 4. Check out our swim lesson webpage for all the details.

Makos Swim Team

The Makos swim team is welcoming new swimmers ages 4-17 to join this recreational swim team. Different levels are available. This is a great way for kids to stay fit and make new friends!
