GardensArt presents “Happy Hour & Then Some…” Watercolor paintings by Robin Lee Makowski
April 24 - May 25, 2017 | Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm City Hall Lobby, 10500 N. Military Trail This solo exhibition focuses on nature for Makowski’s subjects, but is inspired by anything “with dramatic light and lots of color.” Working exclusively from her own original concepts, she captures nuance and personality in all of her work. Robin has received many honors for her artistic merit. Her work has been featured on the annual posters for several prominent art festivals, and she has received countless awards in juried shows and art festivals. More Information

School's Out DaysOur last School’s Out Day for the 2016-17 school year for ages K-8th grade is on Friday, April 14 from 7:30am-6pm at Burns Rd Rec Center. Sign your child up for a fun day with friends filled with lots of entertaining activities, games, sports, arts & crafts and more. If your child is more sports-oriented, we also have our School’s Out for Sports day that takes place at the Mirasol Recreation Center for K-8th graders, also from 7:30am-6pm. Res/NR: $40/$50 per day. Ballet/TumbleWe still have some openings in our Ballet/Tumble class on Wednesdays from 4:15-5pm for ages 3.5-6 years old. This is not a recital class; just a fun beginner dance class that teaches basic ballet positions and fundamental exercises. Class just started this week and runs through May 24, so you can still join in at a pro-rated fee! More Information

Wired!Saturdays, April 29-May 20 for ages 8-13. This is a great new art class for kids that includes working with wire, beads and other elements to make crafty creations. Many projects will be inspired by ‘Streetwires’, an organization of artisans in Cape Town, South Africa, that create and design unique beaded sculpture. All supplies are included. Class time is 10:30am-Noon. Resident/Non-resident Fee: $60/$75. More Information

AARP Driver Safety ClassThe AARP program provides drivers 55 and over with a basic review of driving rules, covers new laws and teaches great driving tips. To register for the next AARP Driving Class which takes place on Wednesday, April 5 from 9am-3pm at the Burns Rd Rec Center, call 561-630-1100; a check made payable to AARP must be brought to the instructor on the first day of the class. Bring your valid AARP card to receive a discount. Florida residents can expect a rebate on their insurance. AARP Member: $15/ Non-member $20

Happy Feet & Hungry Minds Food DriveThe Palm Beach Gardens Adult/Seniors Club continues its food drive to benefit students at Grove Park Elementary School. Hunger is a year-round issue, not just at the holidays. Please consider donating a few non-perishable food items for those families that struggle to put food on the table. Donations accepted at Burns Road Recreation Center, 4404 Burns Road, or the Lakeside Center, 10410 North Military Trail. Please call 561-630-1100 for hours of operation.

Girls & Boys Class 1-A High School District 12 Tennis TournamentTuesday/Wednesday, April 4-5 at the PBG Tennis Center - Hosted by the Benjamin School, whose facilities were damaged in the January 23 tornado, this event is the first step for teams and players toward regional and state play. Singles and doubles will be contested. Matches start at 10:30am each day. Spectators are welcome at no charge.

USTA-Sanctioned “Welcome Back” BG(18-16) Singles & Doubles TournamentSaturday/Sunday, April 8-10 – Players up to age 19 with high-level skills may enroll online for this spring tournament. You are invited to enter if qualified, or just come to watch some great tennis at the Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center, 5110 117th Court North.

Aquatic Complex HoursFrom now through May 27, the main pool with diving board, slide and rock wall is open on Saturdays from 11am-5pm, and the Spray Pad is open on Tuesdays from 10am-noon, Thursdays from 3-5pm and Saturdays from 11am-5pm. Learn to Swim ProgramThe learn to swim program provides swim lessons for all levels and ages starting at 6 months old. The next session of group lessons will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from April 17-May 3, and Saturday mornings from April 1-May 6. Res/NR Fee: $60/$75. Register online or in person.
