GFWC Palm Beach Gardens Woman's Club

The GFWC Palm Beach Gardens Woman's Club is taking a summer break. Meetings will resume on Wednesday, September 20th at 7 PM at Lakeside Community Center, and they will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary. Camp Gardens 2017
Camp starts in less than 1 week!

This year’s summer camps have some awesome themes with lots of fun activities to go along with them. We start off with “Creature Feature”, throw some Harry Potter, Pirates and Superheroes in along the way, and end with “Gardens Goes Hollywood”. And that’s just Classic Camp! We have tons of sports, cultural arts, science and aquatic camps, as well, and even have a Community Service Experience for ages 14-17. Full day camps run 7:30am-6pm and half day camp hours vary. Art Enrichment for ages 9-12

Use your summer to develop skills in drawing, painting, mixed media & much more! This class will enhance the necessary skills and understanding needed for students who are interested in auditioning for the Visual Department for Bak Middle School of the Arts. 11” x 14” mixed media pad, folder, ebony pencils and eraser are required. Tuesday nights, from 6:30-8pm from June 13-August 8. No class July 4. Res/NR Fee: $120/$150. More Information

Palm Beach Gardens offers Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz & Contemporary dance classes all summer long! These classes are offered on a session basis for ages 3 and older. Visit our website for schedules, fees and a complete description of youth recreational dance classes.

ADULT CLASSES & PROGRAMS

Clay Exploration: Teens & Adults
“Get your Clay On!”

Learn beginning wheel throwing and hand building techniques to create original objects d'art. All clay, glaze supplies and firings are included. Classes take place on Thursday evenings, June 22-August 3 from 6:15-8:45pm. No class July 20. Res/NR Fee: $180/$225. More Information

Oil Paint Along with Nancy 

For ages 18+ - “Paint and take” art workshops are all the rage and can be enjoyed by anyone…even if you can’t draw a stick figure! Our first workshop of the summer takes place Wednesday evening, June 21 from 6:30-8:30pm. You can bring your favorite non-alcoholic beverage and a light snack, if you wish, and settle in for a couple of hours of color and wonder as you create a unique work of art. The instructor-led session is easy to follow and all supplies are provided, which includes canvas, paint, easel and brushes. You’ll leave with a finished painting and an experience you won’t soon forget! Please sign up at least one week in advance to reserve your space. Res/NR Fee: $40/$50 More Information

As it heats up outside, head indoors or to the pool to get your workout in. Indoors in the AC we have Yoga, Zumba, Barre Pilates and Stroller Power (HIIT it, In the Middle, Intense Intervals); or try Water Aerobics in the refreshing outdoor pool. Check out our Wellness programs web page.

“Jamie’s Angels” Special Needs Tennis

Saturday, June 24, 1-2pm - Underwritten by the Frank family in memory of their daughter, Jamie Alexa, “Jamie’s Angels” is meant to make young people with special needs into tennis players. Local teaching professionals are joined by other volunteers in this effort. There is no charge to participate, but please call (561) 775-8277 to register. Volunteers: ask for Wendy or Bill if you would like to assist the pros.

New Summer Pool Hours

Starting Monday, June 5, the PBG Aquatic Complex will be open 7 days a week from 10am-5pm!

Makos Swim Team 

The swim team combines stroke refinement, drills, endurance training, and fun games to improve a swimmer’s overall swimming abilities in a fun, team environment.  We compete against other teams in the South Florida Recreational Swim League. For those who are interested in the swim team, come and get evaluated by our swim coaching staff.  Please visit the Makos Swim Team web page for more details

Learn to Swim Program

The Learn to Swim program provides swim lessons for all levels and ages starting at 6 months old.  Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday sessions will be held in the morning and in the afternoon starting June 5th.  Starting on June 10, Saturday morning classes for Adaptive Aquatics, Adults Beginners, Parent and Tot, and Private Lessons will be offered. Lifeguard Training

June 5-9, 8am-3pm, for ages 15+
Interested in becoming a certified lifeguard? The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over. Res $260/ Non-Res $280. Magic Camp Spaces Still Available

The Magic Camp has spaces available for the summer for 5-6-year olds that wish to attend camp. Magic camp is held at the Riverside Youth Enrichment Center and consists of fun themes, games, activities and local field trips.
