Palm Beach Gardens Pickleball

Dear Local Pickleball Enthusiasts,

The City of Palm Beach Gardens is excited to announce a new direction for pickleball in Palm Beach Gardens.  As of October 1, 2019, the pickleball program will fall under the guidance of the nationally renowned Palm Beach Gardens Tennis & Pickleball Center.  The City believes that the related sports sharing a home is a natural fit – and a brand new “home” is under construction.  The two story, 12,000 square foot clubhouse at the Palm Beach Gardens Tennis & Pickleball Center is scheduled to open next summer and will create a premier social atmosphere for pickleball and tennis players alike.

Both the overall facility and its manager, Wendy Tatum, were recently awarded national United States Tennis Association (USTA) and United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) awards.  Wendy and her staff are excited to bring their racquet sport expertise to the City’s pickleball program.

One of the most excited staff members is the new head pickleball professional, Huy Nguyen. Huy has been teaching at the Palm Beach Gardens Tennis & Pickleball Center for 12 years and is one of the most popular tennis instructors.  Huy is USPTA & PPR-certified and well-versed in the mechanics, tactics, and psychology of both pickleball and tennis.  While you can still find Huy on the tennis courts, he has developed a passion for pickleball and is thrilled to share it with the local pickleball community.

The Palm Beach Gardens Tennis & Pickleball Center (5110 117th Court North) is open from 7:30am-9:00pm Mondays through Fridays and 7:30am-7:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.  Pickleball enthusiasts are encouraged to stop by to meet the knowledgeable staff and shop for various pickleball merchandise.  The Center staff will also be able to assist customers with all registration and account inquiries.

The City looks forward to continuing its long-standing support of the sport of pickleball at all skill and interest levels.  Further details on the upcoming program at the Palm Beach Gardens Tennis & Pickleball Center, including registration dates and “how to register” information, will be sent in the coming days.

The pickleball community can also keep up to date by visiting the City’s pickleball website, www.pbgrec.com/pickleball, or by calling the pro shop at 561-630-1180.

Sincerely,

Charlotte Presensky
