SANTA’S MAILBOX December 2 – 18 Burns Road Community Center, 4404 Burns Road
Drop off your letters to Santa in our special holiday mailbox inside the Burns Road Community Center and then watch for a reply! Note: to receive a letter back from Santa, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your child’s name on it or include an email address.

TREE LIGHTING FESTIVAL Friday, December 6 | 6-8pm Burns Road Community Center Kick off the holiday season at the annual Tree Lighting Festival. This free, family-oriented event is filled with music by DJ Jammin’ Jim, holiday crafts in the Reindeer Barn, letters to Santa in Santa’s Mailroom and the Winter Wonderland 4-and-Under Tot area. There will be food available for purchase and photo opportunities with Santa, Mrs. Claus and Elf on the Shelf!

36TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY BAZAAR Friday, December 6 | 11am-8pm Saturday, December 7 | 9am-4pm Burns Road Community Center, 4404 Burns Rd. The 36th Annual Gardens Holiday Bazaar is almost here! Put on your comfy shopping shoes and bring your holiday gift list as you browse over 100 vendor booths.

GARDENSART RECEPTION Ocean as Canvas ll: Reception, Auction and Mermaid RevealSunday, December 8 | 4-5:30pm Sandhill Crane Golf Clubhouse, 11401 Northlake Blvd
Please join us for an art reception to showcase the works of local artist, Carly Mejeur. Mejeur paints sea life in watercolor on nautical charts and hopes her artwork will bring more awareness to the marine conservation effort of South Florida. Light refreshments will be offered. Stay for dinner at The Dancing Crane and enjoy the perfect ambiance of the city’s beautiful golf course and its surroundings. Exhibition closes January 7, 2020. In addition to over 150 vendors selling fresh produce, plants, seafood, bakery items, crafts, prepared food & drink items and much more, there is great musical entertainment and fun highlights every Sunday. Each Sunday in December, we will be accepting non-perishable food donations for the Palm Beach County Food Bank for families in need. No donation is too small! RECREATION GIFT CARDS Give the gift of fun! Recreation Gift Cards may be purchased at the Burns Road Community Center and used for class fees, admission fees, rentals and even snacks at the Snack Shack. It’s a great gift or stocking stuffer for the holidays!. SPECIAL RECREATION HOLIDAY HOURS
All supervised Recreation facilities including Burns Road Community Center, Aquatic Complex, Tennis & Pickleball Center, Lakeside Center, Riverside Youth Enrichment Center and the Lakeside Center will be closed on Wednesday, December 25. Have a safe and happy holiday season!

CLASS REGISTRATION Starting Thursday, December 12th, register online or in person for new Winter/Spring classes and programs starting in January or later. Most classes have a minimum number of students that they need in order to run. Sign up in advance so they don’t get canceled due to low enrollment! GARDENS GIVES BACK COMMUNITY SERVICE EXPERIENCE HOLIDAY PROGRAMAge: 14-16 (Court ordered community service is not eligible for this program.) M/Tu/Th/Fr, December 30, 31, January 2, 3 7:30am-6pm (please arrive by 8:15am each morning) The holiday season is the perfect time to give back to others in need. This valuable experience is one that you will not soon forget as we learn how to work together as a team using communication and leadership skills while helping the community. Up to 24 hours of community service may be earned. Participants meet at Burns Road Community Center and then travel to local non-profit organizations. Space is limited, so don’t delay! NEW! KABLOOMThis 1-day workshop on Monday, December 9 from 11am-Noon at Burns Road Community Center is a fun, stimulating art program to do with a group of friends and to make new ones! Put your creative juices to work to design one-of-a-kind, seasonal centerpieces, wall art, party decorations and more using paper as your medium. Supplies are included. Pre-registration is required and may be done online or in person at the community center. Resident/Non-resident fee: $10/$13.

NEW PICKLEBALL PROGRAM HAS ARRIVED!- Ninety players competed in 5 ability divisions of Mixed Doubles.
- The Bahamas Hurricane Relief benefited to the tune of $2,370, as all proceeds went directly to the “Crisis” fund of City partner, Christ Fellowship.
- Departing players were unanimous in saying they really enjoyed themselves.
Congratulations to Tournament Director and Gardens Pickleball Head Pro, Huy Nguyen, on his very successful first tournament, and thanks to the many who played or contributed cash or in-kind items.
