Hello, my name is Patrice Severson and I am the STEM teacher for the Riverside Youth Enrichment Center. I have worked for the City of Palm Beach Gardens since the year 2002. At that time, I worked in the two-year old classroom as a substitute teacher and later as the lead teacher. I then moved into the 3-year-old class in 2004 when the center became an all-day enrichment program. In 2007, I moved into the VPK 4-year-old classroom as the lead teacher, where I stayed until March of 2016.
My background is in the medical field, obtaining my Bachelors of Science in Medical Technology. I worked in this field several years before switching to early childhood education. I currently have a National Child Care Development Associate (CDA) certification along with a Florida Director’s Credential and a Professional Educator’s Certificate K-6. However, I will say that most of my knowledge and love of teaching young people comes from raising 2 daughters and from working at Riverside Youth Enrichment Center.
At Riverside Youth Enrichment Center, your child will become a part of our family. The teachers at RYEC provide a safe and supportive learning environment, where they focus on encouraging each child individually. This allows our students to find learning fun and exciting.
